Ingribelli, Mukuna named Niagara College Athletes of the Week

Female Athlete of the Week - Mary Ingribelli, Women's Basketball

Mary Ingribelli (St. Catharines) of the Niagara Knights women's basketball program has been named this week's female athlete of the week. Ingribelli and the Knights had a weekend split on a tough western road swing against the Lambton Lions and St. Clair Saints.

On November 18th in Sarnia, the third year guard has 10 points and six rebounds in an 89-51 victory over the Lions. She contributed in all facets of the game, also adding a trio of steals and two assists. The next afternoon in Windsor, Ingribelli was one of two Knights to reach double digits in an 81-62 loss to the St. Clair Saints. She contributed 10 points and team highs in both rebounds with seven and assists with four.

Ingribelli and the Knights have two games remaining in the first semester. Niagara will hit the road on November 25th as they visit the Redeemer Royals, before playing host to the Fanshawe Falcons on November 30th to close out the semester.

Male Athlete of the Week - Levi Mukuna, Men's Basketball

Levi Mukuna (Hamilton) of the Niagara Knights men's basketball program has been named this week's male athlete of the week. Mukuna led the number nine nationally ranked Knights to a pair of victories over the Lambton Lions and St. Clair Saints.

In the opening game of the weekend road trip, the third year guard had 13 points and four rebounds in the Knights 78-68 victory over the Lambton Lions. In a quick turnaround, Mukuna led the Knights to a come from behind victory against the St. Clair Saints. He scored a game high 23 points on the strength of shooting 70% from the field and 90% from the free throw line. He also had a team high seven rebounds in the victory.

The Knights and Mukuna will look to continue their four game winning streak on Friday, November 25th when they visit the Redeemer Royals in Ancaster. They will return home on November 30th for the final game of the first semester when the Fanshawe Falcons visit the Welland Campus Athletic Centre.
