Koslowski, Hylton named Niagara College athletes of the week

Female Athlete of the Week - Jordan Koslowski, Women's Volleyball

Jordan Koslowski (Hamilton) of the Niagara Knights women's volleyball program has been named this week's female athlete of the week. Koslowski led the Knights in both of their matches this past week, including a win over the Sheridan Bruins.

Koslowski opened the week with a strong performance against the number two nationally ranked Humber Hawks. The second year outside hitter put home a 13 points on the strength of 10 kills and two service aces in the four set loss. 

The Knights rebounded with a 3-1 victory over the Sheridan Bruins on November 26th, with Koslowski once again proving herself to be the offensive leader on the court. She knocked home a game and season high 17 points, with 16 kills.

Koslowski and the rest of the Knights wrap up the first half of the OCAA regular season with a weekend doubleheader at home. The Boreal Viperes and Cambrian Golden Shield will visit the Welland Campus Athletic Centre on December 3rd and 4th, respectively. 

Male Athlete of the Week - Lequan Hylton, Men's Basketball

Lequan Hylton (Mississauga) of the Niagara Knights men's basketball program has been named male athlete of the week for the second time this season. Hylton was a machine from beyond the arc in the Knights 95-93 victory over the Redeemer Royals.

The third year guard shot 70% from three point range, going seven of 10 from beyond the arc. He also chipped in a field goal and three foul shots to record a career high 26 points in the contest.

After averaging 8.6 points per game through his first two seasons as a Knight, Hylton has taken off this season. He is averaging over 18 points per game through the first six games of the 2016-17 season. 

Hylton and the Knights now have one game remaining in the first half of the OCAA regular season. The Fanshawe Falcons will visit the Welland Campus Athletic Centre on Wednesday, November 30th to close out the first semester.
