Male Athlete of the Week – Lequan Hylton, Basketball

Lequan Hylton (Mississauga) of the Niagara Knights men's basketball program has been named this week's male athlete of the week. Hylton sparked a fourth quarter comeback for the Knights at the 2nd Annual Blue & White Home Opener on November 3rd.

The third-year guard had 22 points in a 71-66 come from behind victory for Niagara over the visiting Humber Hawks. Hylton drilled five threes, including a momentum trey from beyond the arc in the fourth quarter to draw the Knights to kick off a late run. Niagara trailed by as many as 12 in the game, and finished the game on an 11-5 run to secure the victory. Hylton also added three assists and three steals in the victory.

Hylton and the Knights now have a two-week break from the regular season schedule. They will hit the court next on November 13th for an exhibition game against the Niagara CCC Thunderwolves. The regular season will resume on November 18th and 19th when the Knights head west for a back-to-back weekend against the Lambton Lions and St. Clair Saints.

Female Athlete of the Week – Linnea Davis, Women's Volleyball

Linnea Davis (Brampton) of the Niagara Knights women's volleyball program has been named this week's female athlete of the week. Davis was a catalyst in the Knights five set victory over the Mohawk Mountaineers on November 4th.

Davis recorded 12 points on the strength of four kills, three service aces, and five blocks. She was a spark for the Knights in the 5th and deciding set, contributing with strong blocking and an exceptional service game to maintain momentum for Niagara.

The Knights will hit the road for their next matchup, taking on the Redeemer Royals in Ancaster on November 11th. Davis and her teammates will return home on November 17th for a date with the Conestoga Condors.
