Female Athlete of the Week – Marissa Caldaroni, Women's Soccer

Marissa Caldaroni (Niagara Falls) of the Niagara Knights women's soccer program (1-1-2, 3rd OCAA Central) has been named this week's Niagara College female athlete of the week. Caldaroni demonstrated tremendous leadership and was a defensive rock in a pair of games against top ranked opponents last week.

On the road to face the visiting Humber Hawks (3-0-1, 1st OCAA Central), Caldaroni was a vital defender in trying to limit a potent Hawks attack. However, it was on September 25th where Caldaroni shone against the visiting Sheridan Bruins (2-0-2, 2nd OCAA Central). Having been plagued by injury at times throughout the season, she was in top form a steadying presence for the Knights defence against the Bruins.

Caldaroni and the Knights are back it on Thursday, September 29th as they travel to Toronto to take on the George Brown Huskies (1-4, 5th OCAA West). They return to Youngs Sportsplex for a match with the first place Humber Hawks on Saturday, October 1st at 2pm.
