Edward ('Ed') Zanetti

Ed Zanetti is a Welland native who began his career with Niagara College in 1967 as a member of the School of Business Faculty.

In 1968, Ed volunteered to assist athletics at Niagara and was instrumental in establishing the athletic program at the college. He was Niagara's first hockey coach and went on to coaching a winning season in 1968-69.

He continued as an avid supporter of Niagara Athletics by becoming the play-by-play announcer for college hockey games on the local cable channel and helping to establish the Knights Hockey Alumni Association.

The Sales & Marketing Club, with Ed as its faculty advisor, promoted all college athletic programs in the community for many years.

In 1990, he was honoured by the college with the Recognition of Service to Niagara College Award presented by President Roberts. In 1992, he received the Recognition of Television Production to Niagara College Award presented by President Saso.

Ed was a highly respected member of the School of Business Faculty for 29 years.
