Dave Abraham

Dave Abraham began his career with Niagara College in its inaugural year (1967) as a member of the Mathematics Division faculty.

In 1967, Dave volunteered to assist in the development of the volleyball program at Niagara. He was the first men's volleyball coach at Niagara and continued coaching for a number of years during the period from 1967 to 1978. Dave remained an avid supporter of Niagara athletics by becoming the colour commentator for college hockey games on the local cable channel until the hockey program ended. He continued to support the varsity athletic programs throughout his years at Niagara and is currently a member of the Niagara College Knights Hall of Fame Selection Committee.

Dave was appointed, and then elected, by the faculty to be the first faculty representative to sit on the Niagara College Board of Governors from 1988 to 1992. In 1992, he received the recognition of Television Production to Niagara College Award presented by President Saso. Dave was a highly respected professor in the Mathematics division until his retirement from the college in 1998.
