Gary Nemcko

Gary Nemcko is a St. Catharines native who began his collegiate career at Niagara College in 1973. In his first year, Gary quickly became one of the most aggressive goal scorers in the OCAA (Ontario Colleges Athletic Association) and is Niagara's only hockey player to win an OCAA scoring title.

Twice he was named the Knights Most Valuable Player in 1973 and 1975. After a dominating first year, Gary was selected as the Niagara Freshman Athlete of the Year. In his second season, he was the recipient of the Athlete of Distinction award.

Gary earned the greatest athletic honour that the college bestows, in 1974-75 when he was named the Male Athlete of the Year. His most memorable moment was winning the OCAA West Division scoring Championship in his first year of intercollegiate hockey. Gary graduated from the Business Administration and Marketing program in 1976.
