Ginni Llord 

Ginni Llord, of St. Catharines, Ontario was a member of the Niagara College Knights women’s volleyball team for four years, during which she became one of the top scorers in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association.

In her final year with the Knights, Ginni helped lead the team to its most successful season since 1970 with an outstanding record of 15-1, its first-ever Western Region title, and a silver medal in the OCAA Championships. The team was also ranked among the top 15 teams in the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association for the first time in the program’s history. She led her team with a 192 kills, 13 stuffed blocks, 15 service aces for a total of 220 points and an average of 3.7 points per game which was third overall in the OCAA.

Her career OCAA statistics included being third in kills with 556, fourth in total points with 676, seventh in stuffed blocks at 82, and eighth in aces with 74. Also in her final season, Ginni was selected OCAA Western Region League All-Star and named to the OCAA Championship All-Star team. In 2001-2002 she represented Niagara College at the Annual OCAA East West All-Star Game and named West Team most Valuable Player. That same year, Ginni was the recipient of the Niagara College Athlete of Distinction award and OCAA Athlete of the Week.

In her final match on home court, she was recognized by Niagara College for her four years of dedication to intercollegiate sports with the Niagara College Award of Excellence. Her most memorable moment was defeating the top-ranked Durham Lords in the semi-finals to advance to the gold medal match at the 2003 OCAA Championship. Ginni is a graduate of the Child Youth Worker and General Arts and Science programs. In 2002-03, she received the greatest athletic honour the College bestows: the Niagara College Knights Female Athlete of the Year.
