Maxime Barre

Maxime Barre came to the Niagara College golf team at a time when the program was struggling to compete in the OCAA. In the three years he was with the Knights, the program quickly rose to OCAA and CCAA prominence. He helped lead the team to an OCAA bronze in 2000, and in 2001 improved to an OCAA silver medal finish. Maxime and the Knights returned to the podium with a second OCAA silver medal in 2002 and finished in sixth place at the program’s first national championship appearance. His individual accomplishments include an OCAA bronze in 2001, and a CCAA silver medal in his final season, just two strokes short of the gold medal winner. Maxime was twice named the team’s most valuable player, received the Knights Athlete of Distinction award, and was an OCAA Championship All-Star. He was an outstanding team leader who led by example and was a constant gentleman while on the course. Maxime graduated from the Professional Golf Management program in 2003.
