Excitement Surrounds Knights' Home Openers

Excitement Surrounds Knights' Home Openers

The Niagara College Welland campus athletic centre will be a busy venue on Saturday, November 3rd and Sunday, November 4th as three varsity teams will play their home openers this weekend.  Niagara College's Manager of Athletics & Recreation, Matthew Davies says that the school is "looking forward to a great weekend of home openers! Our volleyball and basketball programs are starting an exciting season as they look to contend for OCAA and CCAA Championships."

With the men's volleyball team set to host the CCAA National Championships, a deep and talented women's volleyball team, and a men's basketball squad that went 7-1 during the pre-season including a victory at the 18th annual St. Lawrence College tournament, there is no shortage of excitement surrounding Niagara College varsity sports.

Considering the talent level of Niagara College varsity teams this fall, Davies feels that "the support of our students is integral to our teams' success this season. Our partnership with the student union has helped allow us to make our games free for fans, with concessions supporting our student-athlete scholarship fund. Please join us this weekend as we host Nipissing and Canadore!"

Below is a schedule for all five games this weekend. All Niagara College varsity sporting events this season are free admission.

Women's Volleyball vs. Nipissing Lakers at 6:00pm
