NEWS: Koslowski, Davis, Vansoelen, Scott Named OCAA Volleyball All-Stars

February 23rd and 24th saw the 2017 OCAA men's and women's volleyball awards banquets hand out the year end accolades for the province's top collegiate volleyball standouts.

The Niagara Knights were well represented as Jordan Koslowski and Linnea Davis (Brampton) were named women's first team all-stars, and Kennisis Vansolen was named to the women's second team. On the men's side, Jeff Scott was also named a second team all-star.

In addition to being named a first team all-star Koslowski (Hamilton) was awarded the 2016-17 OCAA West Division scoring title as she led the West Division with a blistering 4.2 points-per-set this season. Koslowksi was named a CCAA All-Canadian for the 2016-17 season, the 14th Niagara Knight to earn the accolade and first women's volleyball player.

Davis, a fifth-year middle blocker, served as one of the Knights team captains in her final year of eligibility. The six-foot-one former Brock Badger finished the season with 121 points and a dominant 38 blocks. Third-year libero Kennisis Vansoelen rounded out the Knights' women's all-star nods, as the Orangeville native's OCAA leading 216 digs earned her a second team all-star selection.

On the men's side fifth year outside hitter Jeff Scott (Georgetown) was selected as an OCAA all-star for the third time. He was named an OCAA second team all-star. Scott has enjoyed a sensational five year career for the Knights. In addition to the three all-star selections he has received, an All-Canadian, an Academic All-Canadian, an OCAA gold medal and a CCAA bronze medal. Scott is the Knights men's volleyball program all-time leader in points (930), kills (770), service aces (81), digs (515), and games played (83).

The Knights women's volleyball program will open the 2017 OCAA women's volleyball championship at 3:30pm on Friday, February 24th against the Cambrian Golden Shield.
