Saturday, January 25th will see all four active Niagara College intercollegiate sport programs travel to London to take on the Fanshawe College Falcons.
The day will open at 2:00pm with a crucial women's volleyball matchup as the Knights currently sit in a tie for the sixth and final playoff spot in the competitive OCAA West Division. The team will need a strong showing to defeat the second place Falcons (11-1), but coming off a five-set loss against the undefeated Humber Hawks, the Knights seem to be finding their second half rhythm.
In men's volleyball the 4:00 pm matchup will see two of Ontario's best square off. The CCAA's #6 ranked Knights have been battling injuries in recent weeks, and have suffered losses in their last two games. The two teams met on November 29th in a game the saw the Knights earn a hard fought five-set victory. The game will also see a matchup between the OCAA's two premier outside hitters in Daniel Groenveld and Matt Poulin.
Women's Basketball will take the court at 6:00 pm in another critical OCAA West Division matchup. The Knights and Falcons currently sit in a three way tie for third-place. The Knights are coming off a tough loss to the Sheridan Bruins, while the Falcons have lost their last two games. The Knights defeated the Falcons 69-57 on November 1st.
In men's basketball, the Knights will take on the 7-5 Falcons at 8:00pm. The two teams last met on November 1st, and the Falcons came away with a 74-58 victory.
