OAKVILLE, ON: Your Niagara Knights (3-6-1) travelled into Oakville, Ontario to take on the Sheridan Bruins (7-1-2), and in the end found themselves with a 5-0 loss.
The Knights went down early in the game, conceding 3 goals before the 25th minute, and could not fight there way out of the hole they dug themselves into. The loss to the Bruins puts the Knights into the #6 seed as they head into the playoffs next week.
Head coach of the Knights, Frank DeChellis stated that the Knights "had two good chances early on then we found ourselves down 3-0 in a 9 minute span – it was absolutely frustrating." DeChellis continued to talk about how "some goals were set for the second half to use that effort as a springboard for our playoff game Wednesday. The guys were frustrated after the game but we agreed to get back to work and prepare for the playoffs." On a positive note, the match gave opportunities to Narada Gibbs-Burke and Kyle Giovannini to make their debuts for the Knights. DeChellis continued to comment on the debuts by saying "they work extremely hard in training and it definitely showed today as both played well."
The Knights prepare to travel back to Kitchener, Ontario to take on the Conestoga Condors (7-2-1) for a 3rd time this season. The previous two meetings saw the Knights with a 2-2 draw at home and a 4-2 loss on the road, as they are confident for a positive result in their next match. The Knights will take on the Condors on Wednesday, October 16th at 8:00pm – Knights fans who choose not to make the drive up can catch all the action live on the Condors YouTube channel.
