Jordon McDonald - Men's Basketball

Jordon McDonald (Mississauga) of the men's basketball program has been named the Niagara College Male Athlete of the Week after his strong performance against the St. Clair Saints on Sunday afternoon.

Playing 31 minutes in the Knights 103-90 victory of the Saints, McDonald had a season high 21 points thanks to an incredible shooting performance in which he shot 66.7% (10-15) from the field. Adding to his impressive offensive numbers was how well the 6'3" forward out if Mississauga rebounded as he put up 15 rebounds which matches his season high.

This marked the second straight game in which McDonald has had 15 rebounds, a big reason why the Knights have started the second-half of the season 2-0. His back-to-back strong performances on the glass have also moved him into the OCAA's third spot in rebounds per game with 10.8.

McDonald and the Niagara Knights men's basketball program will play host to the Mohawk Mountaineers in their next game on Friday, January 25th at 8pm.

Jordan Koslowski - Women's Volleyball

Jordan Koslowski (Hamilton) of the women's volleyball program has been named Niagara College's Female Athlete of the Week for the third time this season.

The former CCAA All-Canadian had a spectacular match against Sheridan last Thursday night, scoring 20 points including 16 kills. Offensively, she also added three service aces and a block.

Defensively speaking, Koslowski had a strong performance as well, as the fourth-year outside hitter had a team-high 14 digs.

Koslowski's well-rounded performance was a big reason why the Knights were able to overcome a Bruins comeback attempt, securing the a 3-2 match victory after being up 2-0. Her 20-point performance moves her into the sixth spot in the OCAA in points per set with 4.0.

Koslowski and the Knights will host the Conestoga Condors in their next matchup which takes place on Thursday, January 24th at 6pm.
