PREVIEW: Knights head to Seneca for OCAA Cross Country Championship

The Niagara Knights Cross Country team heads to Seneca College's King Campus this weekend to compete in the 2016 OCAA Cross Country Championship, presented by Belairdirect.

The Knights have participated in a pair of invitational events this season with mixed results. However, the team has structured their season to find themselves in top form heading into the event. "We have structured our training and competitions to peak for this event," said Head Coach Adam Upshaw. "We are entering the competition well rested and in our top form this season."

On the men's side the Knights will be led be Jeremy Mol (St. Catharines). In his only event of the season a couple of week's ago at Seneca, Mol was the Knights highest finisher in 31st. On the women's side of the event Kayla Amorim (Kitchener) will be looked upon to post a top 20 finish. In her previous two events at Fanshawe and Seneca she placed 44th and 22nd respectively.

As a team Upshaw is anticipating that both teams have the ability to post a top 10 finish in their respective divisions. In their two competitions, each team has been near the top 10. The women finished 10th at Fanshawe while the men placed 11th at Seneca just two weeks ago.

The women's race gets underway at 11:00am, followed by the men at 12:00pm.
