The Niagara College Department of Athletics & Recreation is excited to host Women's Basketball Day at the Welland Campus Athletic Centre on September 22nd, including a viewing party for the Canadian women's basketball team's opening game at the 2018 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup in Tenerife, Spain.
The event is open to all girls basketball teams (club & school) in the Niagara Region. The day will tip-off at 10:00am in the gym with girls 3 on 3 competitions for all players in attendance. Following the 3 on 3 session, head over to TheCore to watch Canada in their opening match of the Women's Basketball World Cup as they take on Greece at 12:30pm.
Currently the 5th ranked team in the world, Canada is poised to make a run at the podium following the fifth place finish at the 2014 event.
