Spaling Steps Away from Women’s Volleyball Program

WELLAND, ONT., (June 19, 2019) – Natasha Spaling leaving her position of head coach of the Niagara College women's volleyball team after just one season with the program.

Spaling led the women's volleyball team to a 10-8 record and an Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) silver medal. The Knights also made an appearance at the 2019 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women's volleyball championship as the host institution for the tournament. Niagara would go on the finish seventh in the country, defeating MSVU in the placement match.

Despite only spending the 2018-2019 season with the program, Spaling will leave a lasting impact with what she accomplished this season, both on and off the court.

Spaling is leaving the Niagara region to join the USports ranks with Queen's University as a full-time assistant coach with the Golden Gaels women's volleyball team.

Associate Athletic Director, Michele O'Keefe, says it's a bitter sweet moment to see Spaling go.

"Queens University is getting a wonderful young coach in Natasha. She is strong technically and her ability to work with her young student-athletes was a pleasure to watch. We wish her all the best."
