WELLAND, ON (June 24, 2019) – Niagara College Athletics is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the 2019 Knights Hall of Fame is now open.
The deadline for nominations is July 31, 2019, with inductees being announced in October.
There are four classes of induction into the Niagara College Knights Hall of Fame: Athletes, Teams, Coaches and Builders. Criteria for consideration includes:
ATHLETES:
- Athletes are individuals who by outstanding achievement have attained prominence in a sport while representing the Knights,
- Nominees must have made a major contribution to the development and advancement of athletics and brought honour to Niagara College.
- Nominees who had achievements in non-intercollegiate competition, provincial, national and international will be considered.
- Nominees must have concluded their collegiate careers two years before being nominated.
- Nominees must be graduates of Niagara College.
- Candidates will be considered on playing ability, sportsmanship, character and exemplifying the spirit and ideals of Niagara College Athletics.
TEAMS:
- For teams to be eligible, two years must have passed since the date of their significant milestone.
- Nominees must have received distinction at the highest level.
COACHES:
- Coaches must be retired from professional coaching for two years before eligible for consideration or one year if they are over the age of 65.
- Nominees must have been either a part-time or full-time member of the Niagara College Department of Athletics & Recreation and/or a friend of Niagara College Athletics & Recreation for a minimum period of one year.
BUILDERS:
- Builders may be either active or inactive at the time of their selection.
- Nominees must have been either a part-time or full-time member of the Niagara College Department of Athletics & Recreation and/or a friend of Niagara College Athletics & Recreation for a minimum period of one year.
All forms should be completed in full, and submitted to Michele O'Keefe, Director of Athletics, and Ray Sarkis, Intercollegiate Coordinator.
