Thursday, November 9th will see the Niagara Knights men's basketball program (4-0, 2th OCAA West) face off against the west division rival Lambton Lions (1-2, 6th OCAA West). With a victory Thursday night, the Knights will increase their undefeated streak to five, as well as tied with the Humber Hawks (5-0) for 1st place in the OCAA West division standings. The Knights swept the season series aginst Lambton last season with victories at home (84-79) and on the road (78-68).
The Knights are coming off a dominating 93-78 home victory over the St. Clair Saints (0-3, 10th OCAA West) and hope that some of that dominance can transfer over to their game Thursday night. The Knights have had a very well rounded attack this season, having five players contribute 10+ points in their latest win against St. Clair. The Knights offence has been led this season by veteran guard Levi Mukuna (Hamilton, Ont.) who has averaged 21.8 points per game.
The Lions' 1-2 record is not a good representation of how the team has been playing. This program has had to face off against the CCAA 6th ranked Humber Hawks (5-0, 1st OCAA West) and the CCAA 12th ranked Redeemer Royals (3-0, 4th OCAA West). The Lions will be hungry to rebound from these losses with an impressive performance against the Knights.
Tip-off for Thursday night's game at the Welland Campus Athletic Centre is scheduled for 8pm.
