The Niagara Knights men's basketball program looks for their revenge Friday, December 8th when they host the CCAA No. 14 ranked Humber Hawks in arematch of last year's OCAA bronze medal matchup. The Knights currently sit at 7th in the ultra-competitive OCAA West division and a much needed win Friday night will keep them battling for a position at the top of the standings.
Friday night's highly anticipated showdown will be the first time the two west division rivals have squared off since last year's heartbreaker that saw Humber claim OCAA bronze with an 82-79 victory. The Knights are determined to rebound from last year's defeat by sending the Hawks home with their third loss of the season.
If the Knights hope to be successful against a very good Humber program, the team must rely on strong performances from veterans Levi Mukuna (Hamilton, Ont.) and Van Hutchinson Jr. (Nassau, Bahamas). Mukuna has paced the program offensively with 20. 7 points per outing, while Hutchinson Jr. has posted double-doubles in 6 of Niagara's 8 games this season. Solid showings from both parties could result in a much needed victory heading into the Knights mid-season break.
Friday night's highly anticipated matchup is scheduled for 8pm at Welland Campus Athletic Centre.
