The Knights were looking to make the best of the home course advantage when they entered the Niagara Fall Classic on Monday, September 25th at Grand Niagara Golf Club, hungry to prove themselves in front of the hometown spectators.

The Knights seemed to do just that, as the team rounded into form and finished tied for second in the men's team competition.  The Knights shot a combined 305, a single stroke behind the tournament leading Georgian Grizzlies (304).

Fanshawe Falcon's Blake Mackey (Walkerton) shot a 2-under 70 to capture the men's individual title, beating St. Clair Saint Marshall Quinn (Windsor) by a single stroke. The top golfer for the Knights was rookie Marshall Pemberton (Guelph), who finished his day at 75 to sit in a tie for ninth place.

Rounding out the rest of the Knight's individual performances were 12th place finishes by John Hickson (Grimsby)-76 and Logan Lammerant (Seaforth)-76, 18th place finishes by Nolan Von Kalckreuth (Fort Erie)-77 and Eric Clare (Frankford)-77, a 23rd place finish by Andrew Noble (St. Catharines)-78, and a 29th place finish from Rein Zenka (Caistor Centre)-79.

On the women's side the Georgian Grizzlies captured the team title with a cumulative score of 154, edging the Humber Hawks by 5 strokes. Georgian Grizzlies' Addison Wallwin (Barrie) shot a 72 to take home the women's individual title, surpassing Humber's Sheila Mckeen (Ottawa) by five strokes.

The next challenge for the Knights will be the OCAA championships, which will be hosted from October 2-4 at Crimson Ridge Golf Course in Sault Ste. Marie.
