At the half-way mark of the OCAA soccer season, only three points separate the Knights (0-4) from a playoff spot. A combination of bad luck and a tough schedule thus far has the Knights sitting in 9th place in the West Division. With only four regular season games remaining, each game result becomes much more crucial.
This Saturday, September 20th, Niagara College will be hosting the Fanshawe Falcons (1-1-1, 5th West) and will be looking to start the second half with a much needed win. A highly contested match should be on tap because only four points separate these two teams in the standings.
Fanshawe is coming off a 2-2 draw at St. Claire (1-0-2) and is currently unbeaten on the road.
Ball control and constant offensive pressure has been excellent so far for the Knights and you can expect the same game plan this Saturday. Look for Rebecca Morrison to continue her hot play and lead the Knights to victory. Rebecca is the reigning female athlete of the week, leading the Knights with two goals in three matches.
Kick-off is set for 2:00pm at Youngs SportsPlex in Welland.
