Knights Women Fall 3-1 to St. Clair College Saints

January 13th, 2020… WELLAND – The Niagara College Knights women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 (18-25, 18-25, 26-24, 18-25) decision to the St. Clair Saints on Saturday afternoon in Windsor.

Saturday served as a re-match for both teams when Knights and Saints met in Niagara in their final game before Christmas Dec 1st. In a battle that went to four sets, the Knights prevailed with the 3-1 victory.

Second-year setter Montanna Taylor with eight kills, 24 assists and two service aces led the Knights.

With the loss, the Knights fall to 6-4 on the season and are currently ranked 5th in Ontario behind the Saints (7-3).

"The first game after the break is always a wild card," said head coach Steve Dow.  "We need to get back to the form we displayed before the break, where we start on time and do our jobs to a high standard. St. Clair did a good job jumping on us early and using their strengths to score early and often. We changed our line up in the third set and it sparked a set win but in the fourth we stopped doing our jobs and St. Clair exploited that."

Niagara will have a quick turn around with Mohawk (8-3) rolling into town Thursday for a 6:00 P.M. match.
