TORONTO, ON: The Niagara Knights (1-3) travelled to Toronto for a Sunday afternoon matchup against the Humber Hawks (5-0). The Knights put up a strong fight going back and forth all game, seeing the lead change 9 different times, but in the end, they came up short, losing 83-74.
The Knights made for a competitive matchup from the start. Early on the Knights were creating good scoring chances and shooting the ball well, shooting 50% from behind the arc, and held the lead going into halftime up 43-42.
The Knights maintained the lead for most of the third quarter but were unable to stop the Hawks extra push towards the end of the 3rd quarter. Knights' 4th year Guard, Khayden Stewart, was able to end the game with 18 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists, also shooting an impressive 80% from behind the arc. Raheem Dennis had another strong game tallying up 19 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block for his third double-double of the season.
The Knights were challenged offensively in the 4th quarter putting up only 16 points compared to the Hawks' 20 points and were not able to build any momentum to stop Humber's runs. The Knights will look to work on their shooting percentages as they prepare for their next game.
