Knights Bounce Back Into Win Column with 3-0 Sweep of Saints

January 22, 2023...WELLAND - The Niagara College Knights men's volleyball team got back in the win column Sunday afternoon at home with a 3-0 sweep of the St. Clair Saints. Set scores were 25-22, 25-19, and 25-22.

Sunday's afternoon matinee was a vastly different scene from Thursday night's 3-1 loss to the Sheridan Bruins in Oakville. Despite the sets being tight, Niagara was able to remain in control and put the Saints away in each set.

Colin Prelaz led the way for the blue and white, notching 14 kills and two service aces for 16 points. After returning to the the line-up against Sheridan, Dallas Melnick was also big for the Knights Sunday with 12 kills and 8 digs.

With the win, the Knights now sit at 8-5 and tied for fourth with Redeemer in the OCAA West Division. Niagara has just five games remaining on their regular season schedule, beginning with a road trip to Fanshawe (10-2) on Wednesday at 8:00pm. Fanshawe currently sits atop the West Division with a 10-2 record for first, with Cambrian hot on their heels in second.
