February 12, 2023....SUDBURY - The Niagara Knights men's volleyball team wrapped up their regular season on the road this weekend in Sudbury with a win and a loss.
The Knights got things started Saturday night with a 1-3 loss to the Cambrian Golden Shield. Niagara started off the night on the right foot to get the win in set one, 25-20, but that's all Niagara would muster up against the second place Cambrian. The Golden Shield would go on to take three straight sets - 23-25,23-25, 20-25. The loss spoiled any opportunity the Knights had to host a playoff qualifier, and will instead have to travel to the East Division to determine if they will head to the OCAA Championship at Fanshawe February 22-25th.
Niagara finished the weekend and their final regular season game on a high note, downing the Boreal Vipers 3-0. Set scores were 25-15, 25-10, 25-16.
The Knights finished the season with a 9-9 record to place 6th in the West and will now travel to Algonquin College to face the Thunder in the OCAA crossover game to determine who will advance to the OCAA Championship. Game day and time TBA.
