The Niagara College women's basketball (4-2, 4^th West) program  will be hosting the Humber Hawks (6-1, 2^nd West) on Thursday, November 20^th.

The Hawks are coming off a home win against the Sheridan Bruins (3-3, 6^th West) 85-61 and were led by forward Llyandra Kerr (Scarborough) who had 10 points and 15 rebounds. 

The Knights just finished a two game set in Sault Ste. Marie, where they came away with two wins behind the great play of second year guard Hayley Tamo (Mississauga).

Humber's only loss this season was to the St. Clair Saints (3-2, 5^th West), a team Niagara defeated by eight at the beginning of November.

Humber College only lost two games last season and they swept the season series against the Knights. 

 The key to this game will be rebounds.   If the Knights can continue to win the battle of the boards, they should be in a great position to win the game.  Limiting the second chance opportunities for the Hawks will also be important.  The Knights leading rebounders will play a major role in deciding the outcome of the game.

The Niagara College men's and women's basketball programs will be conducting a new toy drive in support of The Hope Centre in Welland.  During the Knights home basketball games on Thursday, new toys will be accepted upon entry and spectators donating toys will receive free admission. 

 "Our team has been active in the community for a few years" added fourth-year women's basketball team captain Miranda Ross. "When the student-athlete leadership team formed, everyone seemed really eager to focus on working in the community. Our team selected The Hope Centre because it's a great organization that really supports the Welland community, and hopefully the toys donated will help brighten someone's holiday season."

Also, toys will be collected until Friday, December 5^th at the Welland Campus Athletic Centre reception desk.
