Niagara College Knights at Mohawk Mountaineers Thursday, November 27th, 2014 - David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre
The Niagara College women's basketball (4-3, 5th West) program will be travelling to Hamilton Thursday evening to face the Mohawk Mountaineers (6-1, 3rd West).
Much like the men's basketball team, Mohawk enters this contest scorching hot, winners of six straight games. The Mountaineers have the highest scoring team in the OCAA West, with two guards in the top ten for scoring. Stef Hrymak (Hamilton) is ranked sixth with 17.3 points per game and second year guard JenJen Abella (Hamilton) is eighth, averaging 15.7 points per game.
Niagara is coming off an 83-67 loss to Humber College (7-0, 1st West) and are eager to get back in the win column. Welland native Courtney McPherson had her best game of the season, leading the Knights with 23 points and 15 rebounds.

These two programs met in the championship game at the Georgian College Fall Classic back in October. With a one point lead at half, the Knights were unable to hold on and ultimately fell to Mohawk 68-49. Shanien O'Neill (Dundas) led Mohawk with 16 points while Mary Ingribelli (St. Catharines) had a team high 15 points for Niagara in the final. Miranda Ross (St. Catharines) and Ingribelli were named tournament all-stars for the Knights. Stef Hrymak was named tournament MVP.
Tip-off is set for 6:00pm.
