Jim Briggs to Return as Niagara College Golf Head Coach

The Niagara College Department of Athletics & Recreation is proud to announce the re-signing of Jim Briggs as Head Coach of the Niagara College Knights Golf Team.

The 2012 season was a successful one for the Knights, as Coach Briggs helped guide the team to an OCAA Division One Bronze Medal, and fourth place finish at the CCAA Championship. Team member Robbie Ellis also captured the CCAA individual silver medal for his performance at the Ping National Championship.

The Department of Athletics & Recreation also announced that Hunter's Pointe Golf Course will serve as the home course for the Knights for the 2013 season.

Niagara College Manager of Athletics & Recreation Matthew Davies commented "We are very proud of our Golf Team and look forward to building on this season's success in the CCAA. We would like to thank Hunter's Pointe Golf Course for their continued support"

Niagara College will also send four student-athletes, Walker Arnott, Chad Currie, Lukas Jakobs, and Cole Kent, to the 2013 Royal Canadian Golf Association (RCGA) Canadian University/College Championship. The event will take place May 28-31, 2013 at the Club de golf Val des Lacs, in Ste-Sophie, Quebec.

Davies continued "the Canadian University/College Championship will be a great experience for our student-athletes, and we are looking forward to seeing the team perform."
