Knights Men’s Basketball Team Snap Four Game Losing Streak

The Niagara College Knights Men's Basketball team ended their longest losing streak of the season with an 85-61 win over the St. Clair Saints on Sunday afternoon in Welland.

Four of the Knights five starters reached double-digits in scoring to snap the four game losing streak. Ashton Stephenson (Brampton, ON) had a game-high 16 points, while Alex Campbell (Brampton, ON) added 14 points. Jimmy Bilenga (Hamilton, ON) scored 12 points, and Benjamin Owusu-Ansah (Mississauga, ON) contributed with 10 points. Niagara's other starter Rashad Morley (Nassau, Bahamas) finished with eight points and grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds.

The Knights, who led 42-35 at the half, were able to pull away in the second half by outscoring the Saints 28-14 in the third quarter.

With the win, the Knights record improves to 9-6. They are in 6th place in the OCAA West Region with three regular season games remaining.

The team is back in action on Wednesday night, when they travel to London to battle the Fanshawe College Falcons (11-6), who are just four points ahead of them in the OCAA West Region. The Knights beat the Falcons 111-80 in their first meeting back on November 12 in Welland. Game time Wednesday night is 8:00pm.
