Niagara and Sheridan played in a wild affair under the lights on Friday night.
It was a very aggressive game marked by several infractions and disciplinary measures.
Just 14 minutes in, Niagara took the lead when Komar Irandost of St. Catharines chased down a ball and touched it over the keeper. Sheridan would equalize just one minute later.
Niagara took the lead once more when Chris Riddell of St. Catharines pocketed a loose ball in the corner in the 35th minute. The tide seemed to turn to Niagara's favour after a Sheridan player was sent off for dissent.
In the second half however, Sheridan earned a penalty kick which they converted. Then, in the 70th minute, a seemingly routine ball managed to find its way through the keeper where a fortunate Sheridan forward made no mistake in finishing the play off. The final score would end at 3-2 for the visitors.
"This loss was a bitter pill to swallow," said head coach Anthony Ventresca. "We have to put this behind us and focus on our next opponents," he added.
Niagara's record falls to 1-2-1.
Next action will be in Kitchener on Tuesday, October 11th against the Conestoga College Condors.
