LONDON, ONT: The Niagara College women's soccer team (2-0) took to the road Sunday morning to take on the Fanshawe Falcons (0-1), tallying 4 goals for their second straight victory.
The Knights, playing their 2nd match in 3 days, looked in top form as they controlled the game from start to finish. Making it a true team effort, the Knights filled the stat sheets with 4 goals from 3 players – Cienna Toromoreno and Sara Walsh scored to give the Knights a commanding lead going into halftime, followed by two goals from Aneisha Gobbels to finish off the game.
Head coach of the Knights, Rob Lalama, praised the team after the match. "I was very pleased with our performance – the team is beginning to bond really well" Lalama specified. Lalama continued to go on to say that the team is "moving the ball well and understanding the level of effort and skill needed to win in the OCAA."
The Knights get the week off to recover and game plan for their upcoming home games on Saturday, September 15th and Sunday, September 16th, as the Lambton Lions and St. Clair Saints stroll into Youngs Sportsplex. Hope to see all you Knights fans there!
