Ancaster, ON: Your Niagara Knights (4-2-1) travelled to Ancaster to take on the Redeemer Royals (4-1) in weeknight matchup. The Knights were unable to get the result they were looking for against the Royals as they fell 4-1 on the road.
The Knights came into Wednesday night's matchup with a strong mind and confidence knowing the difficult task they had ahead of them. The Royals came out swinging, scoring a goal 5 minutes into play and controlled the majority of the first half scoring a second goal to go up 2-0 heading into the break.
Even though they conceded a goal early in the game, the Knights had their heads held high and continued to fight until the last minute. The Knights were on their toes defensively throughout the game as they faced 20 shots against, but even after dominant defensive efforts by the Knights and a 90th minute goal by first year Sara Walsh, they were unable to match the Royals offense, resulting in a 4-1 loss.
The Knights do not see this as defeat and will look to build off Wednesday's performance. "It was a tough night. We went into the game with a few players banged up, and a few unable to play. We're looking forward to a week's rest," head coach Rob Lalama's had to say after the game.
The Knights will get to rest and recover for the next week, as their next match will be on the road against the Conestoga Condors (3-2) on Wednesday, October 3rd at 6pm.
