Welland, ON: Your Niagara Knights women's soccer team (2-0) look to further their winning fortune into this weekend as they host back-to-back home games taking on the Lambton Lions (0-1) on Saturday, September 15th and Sunday, September 16th against the St. Clair Saints (1-1).
Your Knights had a strong start to the season. They hosted a dominant Humber Hawks (0-1) team for the seasons home opener on Friday, September 6th. They faced adversity early in the game as the hawks capitalized with a free kick outside the 18-yard box to make it 1-0. The Knights fought hard to tie the game and were able to push forward as first-year Cienna Toromoreno was able to secure the 2-1 victory with a penalty shot late in the game.
The Knights took that confidence into Sunday's match as they travelled to London, ON and took on the Fanshawe Falcons (0-1). They were able to secure yet another 3 points from the Falcons, beating them 4-0 as they walk away undefeated to begin what looks to be an exciting season of soccer.
They look to keep their energy levels high this week in training as they prepare for a challenging weekend, working to pick up 6 points from both games. We hope to see our fellow Knights come cheer on and support our team with what looks like to be an exciting weekend ahead.
