PREVIEW: Knights looking to start second half strong with visits to Boreal and Cambrian

The OCAA's sixth ranked Niagara Knights women's volleyball program (5-4, 5th OCAA West) hit the road this Saturday for a weekend road trip to play the Boreal Viperes and the Cambrian Golden Shield. After defeating both teams at home earlier in the season, the Knights will look to finish off a season sweep against both teams on their respective home courts.

The Viperes enter play with a 0-9 record that currently places them at the bottom of the OCAA West. The Golden Shield sit two spots ahead of the Viperes in the standings, holding down eighth place with a 2-7 record. The Golden Shield are coming off of a big victory that they picked up against Boreal in their last match on November 28th.

The last time the Knights played their two opponents they found great success as they knocked off both opponents in 3-0 victories. They will look to repeat that success as they open up the second half of the season.

Jordan Koslowski (Hamilton) is putting up yet another fantastic seasons for the Knights as she enters the second-half averaging 132.0 points (T-2nd OCAA) and 108 kills (2nd OCAA).

Rookie Montanna Taylor (St. Catharines) has had a great start to her OCAA career co-managing the setter position for the Knights, as she is averaging 6.55 assists per set (9th OCAA). Fellow setter Melissa McFadden (Hannon) also had a strong first-half as she averaged 5.94 assists per set (12th OCAA).

The Knights will first take on the Boreal Viperes on Saturday afternoon with the game taking place at 4pm. On Sunday, the Knights will finish the weekend trip when they face the Cambrian Golden Shield at 1pm.
