The Niagara College Foundation Golf Classic, presented by Rankin Construction Inc., teed off at Peninsula Lakes Golf Club on September 13th. Once again, the event was a rousing success for everyone involved. In support of scholarships for student-athletes, over 150 participants were on hand for a fun filled day on the links.
The tournament started with a delicious lunch provided by Niagara College's Canadian Food & Wine Institute, followed by tastings of wine, beer and ale from the College's winery and brewery. The Knights varsity golf team was on hand to provide clinic instruction for the tournament participants before they teed-off. Participants also had a chance to go head to head with some of the Knights varsity golfers to test out their longest drive abilities.
The event was capped off with a fabulous buffet dinner and awards ceremony to honour the day's top golfers. Alongside the tournament itself, there were a number of additional competitions including a putting competition, longest drive competitions, and a closest to the NC Keg competition.
