ReuKnighted Again and it Feels so Good!

This weekend will see the return of ReuKnighted after a two-year hiatus and welcome back our alumni to the Welland campus for weekend filled with fun and sport. Alumni and students alike will be able to watch both our women's and men's volleyball and basketball programs play over Friday and Saturday.

 

Friday night will see the volleyball programs take on the visiting Sheridan Bruins in the first double header of the weekend at the Welland Campus Centre. Kicking off the games at 6pm, the women's volleyball program (1-2) goes up against Sheridan (1-3) and are looking to build off their first win of the season last Friday against Fanshawe. Following the women's game, the Men's volleyball Program (2-1) plays Sheridan (2-2). Our Knights are looking to bounce back after their first loss of the season to Fanshawe last Friday and get back into the win column.

 

Following Friday night, the Knights basketball programs hit the floor for two afternoon games on Saturday. First up the women's basketball program (1-2) is aiming to get back to .500 against Fanshawe (3-1) at 1pm. After dropping back-to-back games away from home, our Knights will look for the home crowd to help lead them to victory. Our Knights will look for second-year, Business sales and marketing student, Jamira Rousseau continue her great her great start to the season. The five-foot-eight point guard has been automatic from the field shooting 48% averaging 12 points per-game and adding 4 rebounds and 7 assists per game as well.

 

Playing the last game of the weekend our men's basketball program (2-2) takes on Fanshawe (3-1) at 3pm. After splitting the first four games of the season our Knights will be looking for the second straight win on Saturday. Early into the season the program has be led by fourth-year mechanical techniques major Delroy Grandison. The forward has been a defensive juggernaut for our Knights, averaging 14.8 boards, 2.8 steals, and 2.8 blocks per game while also adding 18 points per-game shooting 42% from the field and 75% from the line.

 

This weekend is full of action-packed games that you do not want to miss.
