February 23, 2020, WELLAND – The Niagara College Knights men's volleyball team defeated the George Brown Huskies 3-1 (23-25, 26-24, 25-9,25-17)  on Saturday afternoon at home to advance to the OCAA Championship in Peterborough.

The Huskies came out firing in the first set to go up 1-0 with a 25-23 win- the only win the Knights would allow.

George Brown put up a fight in set two, but the Knights prevailed with a 26-24 win, kick-starting their eventual 3-1 match win.

The Knights will head back to the OCAA Championships in search of their first OCAA medal since the 2014-15 season when they won the OCAA tournament before finishing with a bronze medal at the CCAA National Championship.

Niagara will open the tournament in similar fashion as last year's OCAA Championship in a rematch with the Georgian Grizzlies. Hoping for a repeat, the Knights downed the Grizzlies 3-2 to advance to the semi final before falling to the eventual silver medalists, the Humber Hawks.

The Grizzlies finished second in the OCAA East with a 15-3 record, while the Knights finished third with a 12-6 record. Both teams will battle it out at 8:30 P.M. on opening day.
