Knights Men Exit OCAA Championship Early with Quarter-final Loss to Georgian Grizzlies

February 28, 2020... Peterborugh - The Niagara College Men's volleyball team had their promising season come to an end Thursday evening on opening day of the 2020 OCAA Men's Volleyball Championships. Mirroring last season's quarter-final opener against the Grizzlies, it was Georgian who came out on top this year with a 3-1(25-23, 22-25, 15-25, 25-23) match win.

The Knights entered the provincial tournament ranked no. 15 in the country by the CCAA, and the third place OCAA West Team with a 12-6 record. Niagara punched their ticket to the OCAA championship after defeating George Brown 3-1 in their cross-over qualifier back on February 22nd. The Grizzlies finished the season with a 15-3 record to place second in the OCAA East.

The early exit from this year's championship extends Niagara's medal drought another year, with their last medal coming from 2015 when they were crowned OCAA Champions.
