November 19th, 2019.... WELLAND - Natasha Desjardins (3rd year, Welland) and Elijah Bugiardini (3rd year, Hamilton) were named Niagara College's Athletes of the Week for November 18-22nd.
Desjardins was nominated for Athlete of the Week honours by women's volleyball coach, Steve Dow, for her effort in her team's 3-2 win over Sheridan College on Friday November 15th.
Desjardins was the match leader in kills (16) and points (18). Desjardins also picked up 11 digs, and two stuffed blocks. Dejardines is in her third year with the Niagara College Knights, studying Fitness Health and Promotion.
Eli Bugiardini was nominated as this week's male athlete of the week for having a big weekend in his team's 3-0 of the Sheridan Bruins Friday Noveber 15th. Bugiardini had 12 kills, three service aces and four blocks against Sheridan, while hitting at a .360 efficiency. He currently leads the team in kills, and sits second in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) kills leader board.
