Dawson Jordan and Julieanne Buist Named NCSAC Athletes of the Week for October 7-11

October 9, 2019 ... WELLAND - Julieanne Buist and Dawson Jordan have been named NCSAC's The Core and The Armoury  Athlete of the Week for October 7th - October 11th.

First year midfielder Julieanne Buist (Canfield) has made a name for herself in just her first six games in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA). Buist currently boasts an impressive seven goals, with four of them coming in last Wednesday's blowout win over University of Toronto- Mississauga.

Buist currently leads all Knights scorers with seven goals in six games played. Buist also managed to set a program record against UTM - most goals scored in a single game - with the previous record being three by three different players (Jackie Lawther, Alex Pasco, Alexandra Craig).

Dawson Jordan was a big recruit for the men's soccer program for 2019-2020. In Saturday's close match at Sheridan, Jordan played the full 90 minutes  at centre back, and did so very competently.  With his team missing two of their tallest players against a very tall Bruins team, he was Niagara's tallest player on Saturday, left to battle for many of the aerial balls on corners and free kicks.  The look on his face after the match told coaching staff he gave the team everything he had.  Jordan's progress this season has been positive, and his attitude as a first year player is infectious.
