Knights Men's Volleyball Team Swept By Lakers

The Niagara College Knights Men's Volleyball team lost their fourth-straight match when they lost 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-23) to the no. 2 ranked Nipissing Lakers on Saturday night in Welland.

The Lakers, who are also ranked 7th in the nation, were led by Adam LeBlanc (Sudbury, ON) with nine kills and five blocks for 14 points, and Frankie Edgecombe (Elmvale, ON) with seven kills, one ace, and two blocks for 10 points.

Millar Galbraith (Georgetown, ON) was the only Knight player to reach double-digits in scoring. He finished with seven kills and three blocks for 10 points.

"We passed well and served well for the most part, but against a quality team like Nipissing you have to play tough defense and make them play long rallies, which we did not do," said head coach Nate Groenveld.

Niagara (2-9) will look to get back to the win column on Sunday afternoon when they host the Canadore College Panthers (3-10) from North Bay. The Knights beat the Panthers 3-1 in North Bay on November 25.

Game time Sunday is 2:00pm.
