Knights Men’s Volleyball Team Lose Sixth-Straight Match

The Niagara College Knights Men's Volleyball team were not given the "royal" treatment on Wednesday night when they were blanked 3-0 (25-11, 25-21, 25-19) by the Redeemer University College Royals on Wednesday night in Ancaster.

The loss, which was the Knights sixth-straight, drops their overall record to 3-11.

"The major difference in the match was serving and passing," said head coach Nate Groenveld. "We had three aces compared to their 12. As a result, we were out of rhythm offensively all night and couldn't catch up. When you lose the serve and pass battle you lose the match, every match every time," he added.

The Knights were led offensively by Cody McLellan (Chatham, ON ) with six kills, three blocks, and an ace for 10 points. Millar Galbraith (Georgetown, ON) chipped in with eight points on eight kills.

The squad is back in action this Friday night when the host the last place Conestoga College Condors (1-14). The Knights beat the Condors 3-0 in their first meeting back on November 22 in Kitchener.

Game time Friday night at the new Athletic Centre is 8:00pm.
