Knights Men's Volleyball Team Shutout The Saints

The Niagara College Knights Men's Volleyball Team blanked the St. Clair Saints 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-17) on Sunday afternoon in Welland.

"Our serving tonight was excellent, we were able to keep St Clair out of rhythm by serving the ball consistently into position one," said head coach Nathan Groenveld. "It was good to stay on track for a whole match and the guys brought their top game to Windsor," he added.

Cody McLellan (Chatham, ON) and Yosef Zaid (Windsor, ON) led the Knights with 10 points each. McLellan recorded nine kills and a block, while Zaid collected eight kills and two aces.

The Knights, who have won two of their last three matches, improved their record to 5-12. They will close out the 2011-2012 regular season with a home game against the first-place Humber College Hawks (16-1) on Wednesday night. Niagara lost 3-0 to Humber in the season opener back on November 3 in Etobicoke. Game time is 8:00pm at the new Athletic Centre.
