RECAP: Knights lose hard-fought battle against Condors

The Niagara Knights men's volleyball program (0-2, 10th OCAA West) dropped their second match of the season against the Conestoga Condors (1-0, 1st OCAA West) on the road this past Thursday.

It was a hard-fought game for both clubs, going the distance to a do-or-die fifth set up to 15 points. The Condors narrowly edged the Knights in the final set 15-12.

Second-year outside hitter Jaydon Milne (Toronto) continued his impressive start to the season, registering 16 kills and adding 18 digs. The Knights attacker is averaging 3.00 kills per set.

Micah Nieuwets (St. Catharines), who played in his first OCAA game against the Fanshawe Falcons in the team's season opener, got the start again and didn't fail to impress anyone. His 14 kills were second on the team for the night, and he also added five digs.

Third year outside hitter Mitch Sawatsky (St. Catharines) played in his first match of the season, adding 10 kills to his team's effort.

The Knights, who are still looking for their first victory under new head coach Tommy Sloan, will travel to Mohawk College to take on the Mountaineers in their next matchup.

The Niagara Knights men's volleyball program take on the Mohawk Mountaineers on the road on November 3rd. The match is set to begin at 3pm.
