Men's and Women's Basketball to Open Regular Season Against Mohawk
The Niagara Knights men's and women's basketball teams are set to begin regular season play on Tuesday October 30th as the teams travel to Hamilton to play against the Mohawk Mountaineers.
The Men's team looks to continue their outstanding play shown during the pre-season. The Knights went 7-1 in pre-season play including a victory at the 18th annual St. Lawrence College men's basketball tournament. The Knight's opening game opponent is the 2011-2012 Canadian College Athletic Association champion Mohawk Mountaineers. Tip off for the game is at 8:00pm.
The Niagara Knights women's basketball team also travel to Mohawk Tuesday night, with tip off scheduled for 6:00pm. The team completed its pre-season schedule with an impressive 4-3 record, and look to build on last season's 9-9 performance.
The men's basketball regular season home opener is scheduled for Sunday, November 4th at 4:30pm, while the women make their home debut on Thursday, November 8th at 6:00pm. Both games will be played at the Welland Campus Athletic Centre and like all Niagara College varsity sporting events this season, admittance is free.
