Men's Basketball Fall to Fanshawe

Men's Basketball Fall to Fanshawe

Despite playing some of their best basketball of the 2013-14 season the Niagara College men's basketball program fell to 0-3 after suffering a 74-58 defeat at the hands of the Fanshawe Falcons (3-0).

The Knights played point-for-point with the Falcons through three quarters, but ran out of steam in the final frame and were outscored 24-12.

After the game Niagara College men's basketball head coach Steve Atkin commented "we played our best basketball of the season for three quarters.  They out rebounded us by 12 in the fourth quarter alone, and that was the difference."

Leading the way offensively for the Knights were a pair of first-year guards in Levi Mukuna and Tyrell Rogers. Mukuna record 14 points before leaving late in the contest with an injury, while Rogers added 11.

Despite the slow start to the season, Coach Atkin feels that his young team is starting to show their potential. He added "we just have to put it all together now and play a complete four quarter game."

The Knights will return to action on Friday, November 8th when the team hosts the Sheridan Bruins (4-0) at 8:00pm at the Welland Campus Athletic Centre.

Admission to all Niagara College home games is free for students, and all games are live broadcasted and archived at www.ocaatv.com
