Men's Basketball Fall to Sheridan

Men's Basketball Fall to Sheridan

The Niagara College men's basketball program fell to 0-4 on the season after losing 108-72 to the visiting Sheridan College Bruins. The experienced Bruins side opened the match on a 21-0 run and never looked back en route to their fifth consecutive win to start the season.

Despite the loss Knights' head coach Steve Atkin saw some positives in the outing, commenting "I give my players a lot of credit, they showed great determination and never quit. One of the key elements in becoming a winner is that ability to fight to the bitter end type attitude. We were down by 21 after the first quarter and 37 at half. We are very young and they are a great seasoned team. We held it together, battled it out and outscored them by one in the second half.  That's a sign of real character that we can build on."

Leading the way offensively for the Knights was veteran guard and team captain Aiden Alize-Minty. The Elmvale, Ontario native recorded 24 points and four rebounds in the contest.

The Knights will face another tough opponent on during their next outing on Wednesday, November 13th when the team travels to Humber to face the 4-1 Hawks at the Humber Athletic Centre. Tip-off is set for 8:00pm
