Busy Weekend of Varsity Athletics at Niagara College

The Niagara College Welland Campus Athletic Centre will play host to a busy weekend of varsity athletics with six games be contest over three days.

Friday, January 18th will see the Niagara College Men's and Women's Volleyball Programs host the St. Clair College Saints with first serve for the women's game set for 6:00pm and the men at 8:00pm.

The 5-6 Women's Program will look to get back to the .500 mark after a tough loss last weekend to the Sheridan Bruins. Meanwhile the 8-3 Men's Program will look to continue their outstanding play that has seen the team win 12 of their last 13 matches and earn the #9 CCAA national ranking.

The Men's and Women's Basketball Programs will host a total of four games against a pair of opponents from Sault Ste. Marie this weekend.

Saturday, January 19th will see the Knights host the Algoma University Thunderbirds starting at 2:00pm.

On the women's side, the Knights will face the toughest test of their season, as the Thunderbirds are currently 9-1 and sit in first place in the OCAA West Division. The 4:00 pm men's matchup will see a pair of seven-win teams face each other with fifth place in the OCAA West Division on the line.

Sunday, January 20th will see the Knights host the Sault College Cougars.

Tip-off for the women's game set for 1:00 pm, while the men will get underway at 3:00pm. Both the Men's and Women's Programs earned hard fought road victories over the Sault College in late November, and the two teams will look for a similar result on Sunday.
