Male Athelte of the Week - Carlos Williams

Carlos Williams of the Niagara College Men’s Soccer program has been selected as this week’s male athlete of the week. Williams played a major role in the Knights' September, 25^th victory over the Mohawk Mountaineers, scoring two goals in the contest.

The St. Catharines native plays the forward position, and he currently leads the Knights in scoring with four goals in the team’s six matches

The first-year Protection, Security, and Investigations student scored the Knights’ first and second goals, just two minutes apart, during the Knights 4-1 road victory over the Mountaineers.

Knights head coach Frank DeChellis commented “Carlos' attitude and work ethic make him a valuable member of the team. He has found a bit of a scoring touch and we're happy for him. He is serious about his soccer and his studies and that's what we like to see"

Williams and the rest of the Niagara College men’s soccer program will play a pair of home matches this week. Friday, October 2^nd will see the Knights host the Sheridan Bruins and Sunday, October 4^th will see the team host the Lambton Lions. Kickoff for both matches is set for 5:00pm at Youngs Sportsplex.

Female Athlete of the Week - Leah Harrison

Leah Harrison of the Niagara College women’s soccer program has been named this week’s female athlete of the week. Harrison has provided stalwart defense for the Knights all season including the Knights two matches this week.

The Mississauga native is a graduate of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Secondary School and is currently enrolled in her first year of the Pre-Health Science Program.

Niagara College women’s soccer head coach Frank DeChellis commented “"Leah has been our backbone on defense and plays with strength and finesse.  We knew she was a centre back the first time we saw her play and she hasn't disappointed us."

Harrison and the rest of the Niagara College women’s soccer program will wrap up the 2013 regular season this week with a pair of home field matches at Youngs Sportsplex. Friday, October 2^nd will see the team play host to the Sheridan Bruins, while Sunday October 4^th will see the team host the Lambton Lions. Kickoff for both matches is set for 3:00 pm and admission is free.
